| The C8 Industrial PC, with its light-weight, extremely hard-wearing aluminum enclosure, was specially developed for mobile operation under extreme conditions. The daylight-capable, 8.4" TFT display with integrated touch panel and automatic brightness control opens up a great variety of possible uses plus extremely simple operation. Its sophisticated technology permits fast and easy integration of various peripheral devices. Due to its very compact design with dimensions of only 232 x 185 x 99 cubic mm (L/W/H) and its manifold installation options, this completely sealed IPC can be mounted on or inside nearly every carrier vehicle. This makes the C8 an ideal vehicle terminal for forklift trucks, order picking vehicles or construction machinery. |

CONTROL PANELThe following operations can be executed from the front control panel: •
Switching the IPC on and off All keys can be conveniently activated or deactivated via software. The control panel has some LEDs for status display next to the keys plus a brightness sensor which adjusts the backlight to accommodate ambient brightness. CONNECTORSThe Compact C8 connectors are located on the underside. Connector covers can be supplied for additional protection. The basic unit is equipped with the following connectors: •
RJ45 network connector 10/100MB Attention: C8 is used mainly in logistics with different voltage supply sources. For this reason, the external power supply is not included in the C8 basic unit. Please order a power supply or DC/DC converter separately!
ADD-ONS for C8 The basic version of the Compact C8 industrial PC comes with a mini-PCI slot as well as a CompactFlash socket. If further add-ons are required, it is possible to install an additional PC104+ (without ISA) slot or a low-profile PCI slot (but not both of these together!). Standard PC cards can be fitted, too, by using a special PC card adapter for the low-profile PCI slot. The PC card adapter requires the low-profile PCI slot (11978)! |

Connector Protection for Compact C8 Optional connector area covers are available for unit type Compact C8.
This connector cover provides
additional protection for the connector area.
There are 4 cable ducts in IP65 protection standard available for this connector cover. During mounting, the cable ends must be fed through the cable ducts before fitting the connectors. This connector protection is also available as an alternative when mounting various types of scanners. |
Mounting Brackets
The mounting bracket is used to mount Compact industrial PCs as well as adjust the tilt. There are various keyboard brackets available for mounting a keyboard directly to the enclosure of the IPC. You will find the appropriate keyboard brackets for the keyboard in question under keyboards .

All different types of PC keyboards can be connected to this PS/2 keyboard connector (N6). For industrial applications, two different types of keyboard (NEMA 4x) are available. Instead of a mechanical keyboard, an optional virtual keyboard may be used. Membrane keyboard
The membrane keyboard with its inclined casing is water and dust proof as well as resistant against a lot of chemicals. You can clean it with corrosive disinfectants without problems. All casing parts are authorized for food contact by the FDA. It is absolutely hygienic suitable without edges and grooves and fulfils the strict regulations of the food industry. Piezo keyboard
The piezo keyboard has a completely hermetic dense surface out of stainless steel and is suitable for highly sensible areas with temperatures from -40°C up to +85°C (= -40°F up to 185°F). It particularly captivates with its long life time because there are no moving parts used. A peep tone informs the user about the return information after a keystroke.
