| Panel PCs are PCs with a built-in LCD monitor. Touch screens are either standard or available as an option in almost all cases. Some Panel PCs are not expandable, while others offer various levels of expandability, from a single half-length expansion slot on a riser card, to multiple full-length expansion slots. Some Panel PCs utilize a passive backplane and a single board computer, while others use a motherboard. |
Sealed Panel PCs
have NEMA 4X/IP-65 compliant front and rear panels, and use specially
designed covers to protect the connector area from moisture. These
systems are available with cast aluminum or stainless steel enclosures.
Input is normally provided through a touch screen. Optional keyboards or even "software keyboards" can also be utilized. Many mounting options are available, including a special anti-vibration treatment for mobile applications, like fork-lift or heavy truck use. |
LCD Workstations are generally rack mountable PCs with built-in LCD displays and keypads for data entry. Touch screens are normally available as an option. Expandability and keypads are the main differences between the smaller Panel PCs and these LCD Workstations. LCD Workstations typically include multiple full-length expansion slots, one or more membrane keypads, and front access to disk drives. |
Rugged Portable PCs are
lunchbox sized PCs with expansion capability. This allows these Portable
PCs to become self-contained test instruments, product demonstration
platforms, or whatever you need them to be.
Their durable construction and light weight construction makes them suitable for field use wherever you might need them. |
